It seems there’s a buzz in the movie industry about a film adaptation of the newly-released game, Split Fiction. According to a report from Variety, Story Kitchen is spearheading the project, assembling a team of talented actors, writers, and a director to bring the game to life on the big screen. Story Kitchen has a track record of success, having previously worked on an adaptation of another Hazelight game, It Takes Two, now being developed by Amazon. They are also known for their involvement in bringing games like Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors to cinematic form.
The interest from Hollywood is overwhelming, with offers flooding in from several top-tier studios eager to be part of this project.
Split Fiction made its grand debut this March and saw astonishing success, selling one million copies within just 48 hours. By the end of its first week, sales figures doubled, reaching an impressive two million units. Hazelight expressed their delight and gratitude on Bluesky, saying, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing.” They went on to thank both new and loyal fans for their excitement and support.
In terms of film adaptations, the It Takes Two movie has already generated significant interest, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson attached to the project. Meanwhile, the screenplay is in the capable hands of Pat Casey and Josh Miller, known for their work on the Sonic the Hedgehog films.
