We’ve finally nailed down the start date for Switch 2 preorders in the U.S., concluding several weeks dominated by discussions on tariffs.
Nintendo officially announced today that you can mark your calendars for April 24 (a Thursday) to place your preorders for the Switch 2. The pricing remains as previously revealed: $449.99 for the standalone system and $499.99 if you opt for the system bundled with a digital version of Mario Kart World.
However, Nintendo also noted that accessory prices might see some adjustments due to the current market conditions. The Switch 2 Pro Controller, for instance, is now priced at $84.99, which reflects a $5 increase. Similarly, a set of Switch 2 Joy-Cons will now run you $94.99, also up by $5. If you’re looking for an additional dock, that’ll cost you $119.99—an increase of $10. Even the extra straps for the Joy-Cons have seen a $1 increase, now at $13.99. Other accessories have also experienced a $5 price bump. As for those up north, Canada is expected to start preorders on the same day. However, due to a national holiday, confirmation might come a bit later. Nintendo of Canada, though, has assured that it will follow the same timeline and has also shared Canadian pricing details.
