ASRock is making waves with the unveiling of their Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs, with the spotlight shining on the upcoming Steel Legend and Taichi custom models.
ASRock’s custom RX 9070 series GPUs have been spotted online just days before their official debut, showcasing some stunning designs. It appears ASRock is gearing up to offer a solid lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, most notably the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. While we eagerly await "official" images from other manufacturers, ASRock has given us a sneak peek online. They’re set to release three different model series: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Let’s start with the Taichi lineup, which is expected to be ASRock’s top-of-the-line offering. It’s designed with an elegant triple-fan setup and features a robust heatsink, occupying three slots.
What makes the Taichi variant particularly intriguing is its 12V-2×6 power connector. Unlike all models, which don’t necessarily include this feature, AMD has opened the option for partners to decide based on their specific power requirements. This connector can handle up to 600W of power, positioning the Taichi model favorably in terms of specs and overclocking potential.
Moving on, the Steel Legend version is positioned as ASRock’s mid-tier option, available in sophisticated white and silver tones. This model is designed with a 2.5-slot triple-fan configuration. However, it opts for a 2×8-pin power connector instead of the 12V-2×6 found in the Taichi. This type of connector aligns with the standard setup of AMD’s partner models, though a few, like the higher-end Taichi, have gone a different route.
As for when you’ll be able to get your hands on these, it’s a good bet they’ll hit the shelves next week. That timeframe lines up with rumors that AMD will kick off pre-orders for their RX 9070 series GPUs at that point.
