Boston-based developer, The Molasses Flood, has officially joined forces with the renowned Polish game developer, CD Projekt Red.
In a recent update on The Molasses Flood’s website, they revealed that as of April 1st, they are no longer an independent studio and have been fully integrated into the team behind Cyberpunk 2077. However, the merger won’t impact their previously released titles, such as The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, which they created before their 2021 acquisition by CD Projekt. Currently, they are diving into a new venture, Project Sirius, a multiplayer game nestled within the rich universe of The Witcher.
In related news, Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, has decided to part ways with the studio.
“This is undeniably a significant transition,” Isla shared in a LinkedIn post.
“Being a part of The Molasses Flood has been a monumental chapter of my life over the past decade. I take immense pride in helping build something sustainable, especially in a competitive market that’s often unkind to smaller teams like ours. We’ve crafted some truly beautiful, memorable, and unique experiences, and I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with the most compassionate, generous, and talented individuals in the industry.”
