Nintendo has emphasized the importance of exclusive games as it gears up for the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.
This insight came to light following a shareholder’s inquiry about the future of new game releases for the current Nintendo Switch, once its new successor hits stores.
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, addressed this question by stating that they have already announced upcoming releases like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which are slated for 2025 on the Nintendo Switch. He expressed that as long as there’s a bustling community on the Nintendo Switch, they aim to keep delivering enticing software. However, he also pointed out the significant role that exclusive games play in the rollout of new hardware. Furukawa assured that the company is exploring various strategies to make both the Nintendo Switch and its next iteration as enjoyable as possible for their audience.
Fans can look forward to getting more details on the company’s upcoming console in the Nintendo Direct presentation specifically about the Nintendo Switch 2. This broadcast is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST.
While we know that the Nintendo Switch 2 is set for a global release in 2025, the exact launch date remains under wraps for now.
