You’ll need to battle and defeat them to unlock them as playable characters, which gives you access to their distinct abilities for combat and exploration.

As you engage in thrilling fights, your Synths earn experience points and get the chance to level up. Each Synth boasts five different levels of progression, marked by unique bonuses that make them stand out. However, as they climb in levels, getting enough experience points becomes tougher. To stay on your game and unlock more abilities, swapping between your Synths frequently is a smart strategy!

Let’s talk specifics: there’s a Synth called “Psitek” that can ignite torches from the get-go. Hit level three, and it gains a nifty ability—destroying projectiles with its fiery slash, a handy skill in certain dungeons. Beyond this, however, its bonuses mostly beef up combat prowess. So, you might want to switch to another Synth to add some fresh abilities to your arsenal without grinding through a mountain of experience points.

Soon enough, you’ll find yourself with a boat that the scientists once owned, now ready for your adventures!
