Capcom has recently announced a remastered edition of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, a beloved PlayStation 2 classic, now set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch.
Following the success of Onimusha: Warlords, its direct sequel, Onimusha 2, soared to popularity, selling 2.1 million copies globally, making it the most successful entry in the series.
The game introduces a new hero, Jubei Yagyu, who embarks on a quest for vengeance. Interestingly, Jubei’s character is modeled after the late Yusaku Matsuda, a Japanese actor who rose to fame in the 1980s.
This remastered version stays true to the original’s setting and gameplay but includes updated features and several quality-of-life improvements designed for modern gaming consoles.
Look for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny to make its digital debut on the Nintendo eShop for Switch players worldwide in 2025.
