Pizza Hut is blending the delightful worlds of cheesy pizzas and console gaming with their latest creation, the PIZZAWRMR. This clever gadget is meant to rest on top of your PlayStation 5, keeping your pizza warm while you game away. But don’t rush to stores looking for it. Pizza Hut Canada has decided to make the 3D printing files available for free, letting anyone interested download, tweak, and print their very own.
The PIZZAWRMR design takes a cue from Pizza Hut’s iconic red roof. It’s built like a laptop, so you can easily flip it open and grab a slice whenever you want. As Pizza Hut points out, several slices will fit snugly inside the top compartment. Their diagrams even show how the warm air from the PS5 is used to heat this area, making it a quirky example of “science and engineering for the greater good,” according to their marketing team.
The downloadable package comes with everything you need: STL files and a handy PDF guide. You’ll get blueprints for pieces like the body, lid, and stands, all meant to fit the console that sports a rear vent measuring 11.7 x 1.31 inches. Heads up: your 3D printer needs a bit of space, specifically a 15 x 15-inch bed, to create the PIZZAWRMR without cutting the model into parts. If you’re geared up with an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, Prusa XL, or maybe even an Elegoo Orange Storm Giga, you’re in luck.
When setting up this pizza warmer, it’s wise to protect your console from crumbs and grease. Pizza Hut suggests using a 34 x 23 x 2.5cm foil tray as an insert. Why the sudden shift to metric for the tray’s dimensions? Chalk it up to Canadian influence. According to the company’s guidance, you should fire up your console first to get the PIZZAWRMR nice and warm, and then pop in those slices — preferably from a medium pizza for the best fit.
Fast food brands jumping into the gaming world isn’t groundbreaking. Remember when KFC unveiled their tongue-in-cheek KFConsole in 2020? Initially a bit of a gag, it morphed into a real gaming console powered by an Intel NUC, complete with a hot space for fried chicken.
So, there you have it. A delicious, if slightly eccentric, way to fuel your gaming marathons. Enjoy the combo of crispy slices and epic gaming without needing to leave your favorite chair!
