The next trailer for GTA 6 remains a mystery, and a lot of questions are circulating, particularly around its release date. Not long ago, retailer X Uruguay fueled excitement by listing a September 17, 2025 release. A customer service chat surfaced online, suggesting this date came from PlayStation, adding more fuel to the rumor mill. However, the retailer has come forward to clarify that it had not received any official confirmation from any major brands. Instead, it mistakenly used the date from GTA 5’s release—September 17, 2013—as a placeholder, prompting a premature and misleading listing. The retailer has since apologized to fans for causing confusion.

Grand Theft Auto 6 landing on September 17, 2025, was quite unlikely from the get-go since that date is a Wednesday, which isn’t typical for game releases. Most games these days release on Tuesdays, Fridays, or sometimes Thursdays. Although a Wednesday release isn’t impossible, it’s notably rare. Given that GTA 6 has a tentative fall 2025 release window, a September date could still be on the cards, potentially echoing the release pattern of its predecessor.
