Take-Two Interactive recently announced that it is likely to support the Nintendo Switch 2, although specific details are still under wraps for now.
This well-known publisher has previously brought several major titles to the original Switch, including games like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. Fans have also enjoyed Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and LEGO 2K Drive on the hybrid console. More recently, they’ve released NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on this versatile platform.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, highlighted the company’s longstanding collaboration with Nintendo during their Q3 2025 earnings call. “Our history with Nintendo goes way back, and we’ve always backed their platforms when it aligned well with our releases,” he remarked. Zelnick also noted a shift in Nintendo’s audience over the years: “Nintendo’s previous systems focused more on younger gamers, and that influenced what we offered. However, with the current Switch and the anticipated Switch 2, we’re looking at a much broader audience. Just look at Civilization VII—it’s now on Switch. While I don’t have specifics to share right now, we do anticipate extending our support to the next Switch.”
For those eagerly waiting for more information on Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the details will be unveiled in a Nintendo Direct presentation specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. This event is scheduled to stream live on Wednesday, April 2, at times convenient for various regions: 6 AM PT, 9 AM ET, 2 PM BST, and 3 PM CEST.
Set to launch globally in 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t have a confirmed release date just yet. Keep an eye out for what’s sure to be an exciting addition to Nintendo’s roster of gaming innovation!
