This week, the Nintendo Switch eShop is offering up some exciting new additions, including a sprinkle of SNES classics, fresh tunes on the Nintendo Music app, tempting sales, and a slew of brand-new titles ready for download.
Starting with the SNES lineup, the Switch Online collection is getting four new entries, all throwbacks from developer Koei during the SNES’s glory days. First up, we have Nobunaga’s Ambition and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, originally released in 1993 and 1994. Both titles plunge you into Japan’s Sengoku period, where the goal is to reunite the disparate regions through epic battles.
Then we journey to China with Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire, a 1994 turn-based strategy gem based on the renowned novel of the same name. Koei also takes you on a nautical adventure in Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. First launched in 1993, this European-based game is all about sailing and trading during the Age of Discovery.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo Music app is expanding its repertoire, though somewhat mysteriously. This week, it’s serving up 23 tracks from Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The rest of the soundtrack? Still a mystery, but hopefully coming soon.
On top of that, a long list of new titles is sailing into the Switch eShop, including Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. For a deeper dive, don’t miss our chat with Turtle Flip Studio, the brains behind the game, in last week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast episode. And stick around for our upcoming review!
